How to Use Wooden Combs for Scalp Massage

Did you know that there are over 60 pressure points on your scalp?

Scalp massages are a great way to relax mind and body, stimulate blood circulation, encourage new hair growth, and help relieve dry or itchy scalp.

Natural Wood Massage Combs are fantastic on the scalp. They can be used on dry scalp or after applying a few drops of our Elixir Hair Serum on the scalp. You can also use them on other parts of the body.

Wood Massage Combs

Here are 4 great combs. I have selected them for their shape, natural material, esthetics, durability, and because they won’t create static nor scratch the scalp. They are available with our Hair Treatment and Scalp Massage Gift Set.

Here are 6 easy scalp massage steps that you should do regularly. If you think this is one more time-consuming self care ritual that you can’t possibly fit in your schedule, just do them while watching a movie, in the comfort of your couch… How easy is that?

You never need to apply hard pressure… always be kind to your body!

Step 1:

Massage all over the scalp in a gentle, light circular motion to relax scalp muscles and ease stress.

Step 2:

Run the comb over the entire scalp starting from the hairline around the face and ending at the hairline on the back of the head. Do each stroke slowly 10 to 20 times.

Step 3:

Focus on the area around the ears and run the comb on your scalp following the curve of the ear, from front to back, 10 to 20 times.

Step 4:

There is an important pressure point at the top of your head. You can find it by placing a finger above each ear and going upward until your fingers meet at the center top of your head.

This point (known as Bai Hui or “Hundred Convergences”) is the place where all of the energies of your body meet, making it one of the most powerful points on the body. By massaging this point in a circular motion, either with one of the rounded teeth of the combs, or with a curvy part of the comb, you will help relieve stress, tension (mental or physical), anxiety, or even sleep issues.

Step 5:

Run the comb slowly up and down in the back of the neck to reduce tension. Do 10 to 20 times.

Step 6:

Finish the massage by running the comb from the back and side of the neck towards the shoulders, along the trapezius muscles. This is a part of the body that is always tight, and this is one area where you can apply greater pressure… It feels so good!
